A liquid container (11) detachably mountable on a liquid ejection apparatus, includes: a surface parallel to an insertion direction into the liquid ejection apparatus; and a plurality of conformity identification protrusions (37) integrally formed at the surface to be in parallel to the insertion direction for preventing erroneous insertion of the liquid container to a container mounting portion due to a difference in shape of the conformity identification protrusions (37), wherein each of the conformity identification protrusions (37) has a different length from a contact portion located at one end in the insertion direction to a reference surface located at the other end in the insertion direction.
