An unlocking device for a mortise lever lock is provided to enable a user to quickly unlock the mortise lever lock by simply manipulating an inner lever from indoors. An unlocking device for a mortise lever lock includes inner and outer lever members and a box frame. A rotating plate(22) having a pushing bump(22a) is fixed on a lever axis(20) of a lever. An elevating plate(26) is contacted with a diffractive slice(24) of a thumb turn(16). The elevating plate is teeth-coupled with a rack gear of the elevating plate or a pinion gear of the thumb turn. When the door lock is locked, the user simply manipulates the lever to unlock the door lock.
