PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve power transmission efficiency in a planetary roller device capable of changing normal force applied to the mutual contact parts of rollers, according to the torque of the rollers. SOLUTION: A carrier 34 is restrained in its rotation by being fixed to a casing 20, and a carrier 24 is connected to the casing 20 through a spring element 26 having elasticity with respect to the circumferential direction of a ring roller 22. When torque is transmitted between a sun roller 21 and the ring roller 22 and applied to the carrier 24, the carrier 24 is rotated relative to the casing 20 to generate phase difference between the carriers 24, 34. The force of the ring roller 22 pressing each pinion roller 23 to the sun roller 21 side, i.e., normal force applied to the contact parts 27, 28, is thereby increased. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
