<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten system recognition time for printing and to correctly determine power source required for transfer of a recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes a conveyance part which includes a conveyer belt to convey a recording medium, an absorption part which is disposed furthest upstream in a conveyance direction of the recording medium and absorbs the recording medium to the conveyer belt, a plurality of transfer parts including a photosensitive material and a transfer roller to perform a transfer process of the recording medium according to a plurality of colors, a power supply to supply power to form an electric field in the transfer part and the absorption part to perform conveyance and absorption of the recording medium, and a controller to control the power supply to supply the power to the plurality of transfer parts corresponding to resistance values of second transfer parts among the plurality of transfer parts, the second transfer parts disposed apart from a first transfer part that is located closest to the absorption part with respect to the conveyance direction of the recording medium. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
