A noise-reducing device 10 for a vehicle wheel rim 40 comprises two elements 12 arranged to secure the device 10 around the wheel rim 40. The elements 12 are arranged to form a closed loop that is a close fit with the wheel rim 40 so that the device 10 is self-retaining on the wheel rim 40. At least one cavity is formed in one of the elements 12, the cavity having an opening to provide communication between the cavity and the tyre cavity. The cavity is arranged to define at least in part a chamber that acts as a Helmholtz resonator when the device 10 is installed onto the wheel rim 40.
