PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device including an orientation film with less burning of a display image.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device includes a pair of substrates, a liquid crystal layer disposed between the pair of substrates, and an orientation film provided for at least one of the pair of substrates. The orientation film includes polyimide using polyamide acid ester and polyamide acid as the precursor. The chemical structure of the polyamide acid is represented by formula (1). (Xrepresents a divalent organic group, Yrepresents a tetravalent organic group not including a cyclobutane structure in the structure, and 30% or more and 90% or less of Yincludes at least one unsaturated cyclic structure in the structure.)SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
