PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a writing instrument which can be easily and securely switched between a writing state and a non-writing state.SOLUTION: A writing instrument 1 includes: a barrel 2; a writing body 6 movably arranged in the barrel 2; a pressing member 10 arranged on a side surface of the barrel 2; an engagement part 35 which is engaged with the writing body 6 in an axial direction and restricts movement of the writing body 6; and an elastic member 50 arranged in the barrel 2 in a position opposite to the pressing member 10. When the pressing member 10 is pressed along a radial direction, engagement of the engagement part 35 is released and the writing body 6 can be moved by gravity, and also the elastic member 50 is compressed in the radial direction. When pressing force is released, the engagement part 35 engages with the writing body 6 by restoring force of the elastic member 50.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
