PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface emitting laser element which emits a laser beam having a wide divergence angle.SOLUTION: There is provided the surface emitting laser element including a lower DBR formed on a substrate, an active layer formed on the lower DBR, and an upper DBR formed on the active layer. The upper DBR includes a dielectric multilayer film formed by alternately laminating dielectrics having different refractive indices. A light shielding part is formed on the upper DBR. The light shielding part has an opening for emitting light at a central portion thereof. |
