Provided are: an endoscopic diagnostic device capable of easily measuring the size of a lesion or the like from an endoscopic image captured through a normal operation not requiring a special operation; an image processing method; a program; and a recording medium. A region detection unit detects a region having a periodic structure in biological tissue from a location on an endoscopic image, according to an instruction specifying the location. An imaging size calculation unit calculates the imaging size on the endoscopic image, in number of pixel units, of the period in the periodic structure in the region exhibiting the periodic structure. A pixel size calculation unit calculates the actual size corresponding to one pixel of the endoscopic image, on the basis of the imaging size and information expressing the actual size of the period in the periodic structure stored by a size information storage unit. A scale generation unit generates a scale expressing the actual size of the imaging subject on the endoscopic image, on the basis of the actual size corresponding to one pixel, and the control unit synthesizes the endoscopic image and the scale and displays the same on a display unit. |
