Voltage control is performed by setting the inductance value of an arc period (Ta) to a first inductance value for a prescribed time interval following the start of the arc period, and after the prescribed time interval has passed, modifying the value to a second inductance value lower than the first inductance value. By modifying the inductance value in question multiple times, variability of the electric current, such as undershoot, encountered when a disturbance has arisen is minimized, the shorting cycle is stabilized, and welding can be carried out largely unaffected by disturbances, and with a minimal amount of sputtering. |
