PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an evaluation device and an evaluation method capable of evaluating characteristics of a QPM type wavelength conversion element in a non-destructive manner and without preparing a test element.SOLUTION: An evaluation device includes: a light source 10 configured to transmit light to an optical waveguide 250 constituting a QPM type wavelength conversion element 200 of an evaluation object; an objective lens 20 configured to collect light leaking from the optical waveguide; and a detection unit 40 configured to detect intensity of light collected by the objective lens.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
