A wireless system for monitoring primary usage or secondary usage is provided. A base station wireless device (220) outputs to an IEEE 802.11af terminal wireless device (230) frame information including an IEEE 802.22 superframe number, frame number, and frame timing. A controller (231) compares the frame information and the Quiet Period information of a terminal wireless device (230) of a Quiet Period scheduling area (211), to determine the timing for transmitting a beacon. Because the beacon signal from the IEEE 802.11af terminal wireless device (230) is transmitted on the basis of the frame information in the IEEE 802.22 wireless signal, the IEEE 802.11af Quiet Period has a constant cycle. Likewise, for other IEEE 802.11af terminal wireless devices (230) as well, the IEEE 802.11af Quiet Period has a constant cycle. The Quiet Period is synchronized through agreement of beacon transmission timing among the IEEE 802.11af terminal wireless devices (230), and primary usage or secondary usage is monitored during this Quiet Period. |
