Grinding machine for finishing chain

The machine (1) is used for finish-grinding a chain. It incorporates a grinding wheel (2) which contacts a horizontal length of chain running between first and second rollers (5,6) mounted on a framework (4). There is a third roller (7) at the bottom of the frame which acts as a dancer roller and may be loaded by a weight or a spring (9) attached (10) to the frame. The first three rollers are arranged in a right-angled scalene triangle. There is a chain storage or stretching device (3) with two carrier beams (11,12) carrying several rollers round which the chain pursues a zigzag course.
