PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of up/down keys concerning tuning in an audio device with a tuner. SOLUTION: A preset channel up/down key functions also as an up/down key for a frequency scanning mode. The preset channel up/down key usually functions as the preset channel up/down key and within a prescribed time after a user operates a switch key for a tuning mode, the preset channel up/down key functions as the up/down key for the frequency scanning mode. During the period (to be called 'period S', hereafter) while, the preset channel up/down key functions as the up/down key for the frequency scanning mode, when the user operates the preset channel up/down key, the period S is extended by a prescribed time.
