PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide good service by connecting a data telecommunication line only when necessary which is not always connected to the data telecommunication line with the customer. SOLUTION: A remote supervisory system has a supervision center (20) which monitors apparatus (60) installed in a customer, detects occurrence of a fault, transmits a notification on the occurrence of the fault informing the occurrence of the fault to a first mail address through the Internet (50) by electronic mail, when the occurrence of the fault is detected, and transmits request to receive the mail through a sound line (52), and a service center (10) which receives the notification mail on the occurrence of the fault from the first mail address in response to the request to receive the mail, and transmits the notification mail of service occurrence by the electronic mail to an engineer in response to the reception of the notification on the occurrence of the fault mail.
