PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adequately use a light and shade black color material according to a reproduced color when a color image is outputted by using color materials of a plurality of colors including the light and shade black color material. SOLUTION: In interpolating operation 21 using a 3D-LUT, conversion to outputs K, Lk, C_UCR, M_UCR, and Y_UCR corresponding to eight grating points (points W, Y, M, R, C, G, B, and K) of C<SB>0</SB>M<SB>0</SB>Y<SB>0</SB>, is performed. The output values after the interpolating operation are processed through clipping processing 22 into values within a range of 0 to 255, and K and Lk signals are outputted. An output signal CMY is calculated by subtracting 23 the C_UCR, M_UCR, and Y_UCR from the C<SB>0</SB>M<SB>0</SB>Y<SB>0</SB>. For a W-K line, the Lk is generated first and then the K is generated.
