<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive method for driving a brushless DC motor, even when using a brushless DC motor having large inductance of stator winding. <P>SOLUTION: A commutation phase estimating means 6 multiplies the commutation cycle of normalized current by prescribed times obtained by dividing the current supplied to an inverter circuit 2 from a DC power source 1 with a current average value to estimate the commutation phase from the displacement in a prescribed section, while a commutation cycle decision means 7 sends out a commutation command which follows a commutation phase target value optimal for a desired operation mode set by a phase target value decision means 8 to perform energizing control to the inverter circuit 2, enabling drive of the motor 3 in a desired operational mode of low noise, high efficiency, high torque or the like. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
