ACTIVE MATRIX TYPE ORGANIC EL DISPLAY DEVICE AND ITS DRIVING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the service life characteristics of an organic EL element by suppressing heat generation of an organic EL display device.

SOLUTION: The active matrix type organic EL display device includes: a plurality of pixels PX each of which includes a pixel circuit and an organic EL element OLED, and in which the pixel circuit and organic EL element OLED included by each are connected in series between a power source terminal ND1 and a power source terminal ND2 in this order; a temperature sensor which senses the temperature change of the organic EL element; a power source circuit which supplies a voltage between the power source terminals ND1 and ND2 and changes the potential of the power source terminal ND2 so as to reduce the absolute value of the voltage between the power source terminals ND1 and ND2 when the temperature sensor senses the temperature rise.
