PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a designing method for housing member capable of making design for reducing a burden on a human body in designing housing member. SOLUTION: The designing method for using a computer provided with a rule database in which human body information and design rule data are associated and stored in advance to reduce the burden of a human body in standing and sitting movements comprises: a target person information input step for inputting information about a human body of a target person who should reduce the burden of the human body in the computer; a condition input step for inputting design condition information of members for a house in the computer; and a member design step in which the computer calculates design values of the housing members to reduce the burden of the human body of the target person on the basis of the human body information and design condition information.
