PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring system for an automatic teller machine which does not provide images to identify customer's confidential information, or prevents the information from being identified while using a monitor camera to image an area around an operation part including the operation screen of the automatic teller machine and the customer's operation. SOLUTION: When receiving an image control signal Sc sent from the automatic teller machine 4, an image processor 8 controls the monitor camera or performs image processing so as not to provide image data Sa1 taken by the monitor camera 6, from which the customer's confidential information is identified, or to prevent it from being identified. Thus, image record data Sa2 sent to a monitoring center 12 does not include data to identify the customer's confidential information. In this way, it is possible to image the area around the operation part 7, including the operation screen 31 of the automatic transaction apparatus 4 and the customer's operation.
