The device has a claw (22) formed around a horizontal axle (12) of an actuating lever (44) and including a radial swivelling part (20) projecting upwards. A blocking unit is provided at a free end of the swivelling part and projects into a placing area of a corner fitting of a container. An end of a compression spring (30) acts on a free end of a lever arm (442) of the actuating lever to allows a relative swivelling between the actuating lever and the claw. The blocking unit penetrates into a sidewise oblong hole of the corner fitting and secures the container after placing on a supporting platform.
