A heating method is described. A plurality of flux concentrators and at least one part may be held in proximity to one another. One or more alternating electric current may be generated to generate a plurality of alternating magnetic fields by the respective flux concentrators.

holding a plurality of flux concentrators and at least one part in proximity to one another; generating at least a first alternating electric current to generate a plurality of alternating magnetic fields by the respective flux concentrators, each alternating magnetic field heating a respective region of the at least one part to create a heat affected zone in the region where atom movement causes a change in a property of a material of the at least one part, the heat affected zones created by respective flux concentrators overlapping one another.
