PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rice cooker that is safe and convenient.SOLUTION: The cooking appliance includes: a rice cooking unit 10 that becomes a heated object to be used during rice cooking; a pot unit 50 that becomes a heated object to be used in mizutaki (chicken and vegetables boiled plain and are eaten after being dipped in a sauce in Japan) or the like; and a heating unit 20 having a heating coil 27 which heats the heated object by placing it in a detachable manner and having a control circuit 23c which controls the operation of the heating coil 27. The heated object is provided with a positioning means 11g and a notification elements 80 in different positions so that the rice cooking unit 10 and the pot unit 50 can be distinguished. The heating unit 20 is provided with sensors 81 respectively capable of detecting the notification elements 80 at a position opposing the notification elements 80 installed respectively. By monitoring the signal of a sensor 81a that detects the notification element 80a installed in the rice cooking unit 10 and the signal of a sensor 81b that detects the notification element 80b installed in the pot unit 50, the control circuit 23c can detect whether the heated object placed is the rice cooking unit 10 or the pot unit 50.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10 |
