APPLICATION OF JERUSALEM ARTICHOKE POWDER AND LACTOBACILLUS REUTERI COMBINATION AS FEED ADDITIVE FOR PRODUCTIVITY INCREASE OF THE BROILER CHICKS

The invention pertains to the following sub-sectors of agriculture: animal production (poultry farming) and production of powder obtained from roots of Jerusalem artichoke. The object covered by the patent protection is composition and dose of the dry powder additive sourced from Jerusalem artichoke.The scientifically formulated additive in the form of dry powder contains the following combination of premixtures: prebiotics as powder of Jerusalem artichoke (Helianthus tuberosus) and probiotics: culture of Lactobacillus reuteri.Applying the scientifically formulated doses consisting of a combination of powder from Helianthus tuberosus and Lactobacillus reuteri, the quality of the obtained meat was improved – the cholesterol level in broiler meat dropped by 19,7 mg/% while the productivity of broiler chicks increased by 3,9 %.The doses of Jerusalem artichoke (Helianthus tuberosus) powder in combination with Lactobacillus reuteri can be used by mixed broiler feed producers in order to provide poultry feed to broiler production farms and individual poultry farmers capable of increasing the productivity of broilers and quality of meat, as well as improvement of the digestive tract micro-flora.
