PURPOSE: An information storage medium is provided to record a revision number for additional information related to a standard having an identical version number as reproduction-only data, and to record and/or reproduce data according to the revision number, thereby recording or reproducing the data according to changed contents. CONSTITUTION: When reproducing data stored in a disk, a pickup detects an optical signal from the disk, and extracts the data from the detected optical signal. An RF amplifier(130) converts the optical signal into an RF signal, extracts a servo signal for performing a servo function, and modulates the extracted servo signal. A digital signal processor(120) demodulates modulated data supplied from the RF amplifier(130) by corresponding to a modulation scheme, carries out an ECC process to correct an error, and removes additional data. A servo(150) receives information necessary for servo control from the RF amplifier(130) and a system controller(160). An AV coder(110) decodes compressed AV data, and outputs an AV signal. The system controller(160) records or reproduces the data on the disk.
