PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved blind rivet having high resistance with respect to the shearing load. SOLUTION: A blind rivet assembly includes a mandrel 1 having a male screw 6 screwed into an inner female screw 5 of a rivet body 2 on a distal end. The mandrel 1 includes an enlarged diameter region 7 adjacent to the male screw 6, and the region 7 is joined to drawn parts 9, 10 and 11 by a fracture groove 8. The enlarged diameter region 7 is housed in an inner hole 17 of a crushed part of the rivet body, and the crushed part includes a radial groove 19 on an outer surface thereof in order to improve enlargement of the rivet along the radial direction at the time of attachment. A shoulder 18 in the inner hole supports a sealing ring 13. When rightly assembled, the drawn parts 9, 10 and 11 are fractured at the fracture groove 8. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
