PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealing method and sealing equipment for the entrance of a continuous atmospheric annealing furnace, wherein, the flawing of the surface of the strip caused by felt seals at the entrance of a continuous atmospheric annealing furnace for annealing a strip in a continuous atmospheric annealing furnace is prevented. SOLUTION: The sealing method includes a process where a pair of seal rolls (11, 21) arranged at the entrance of a continuous atmospheric annealing furnace and sandwiching a steel sheet (1) are rotated. The rotational speed of the seal rolls (11, 21) is set in such a manner that the peripheral speed of each seal material (10) wound around the surface thereof reaches 0.002 to 5% based on the running speed of the steel sheet (1).
