PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved ranging camera which acquires information concerning depth substantially simultaneously from all pixels in one scenery.

SOLUTION: A microchannel array device to modulate an electron flow comprises a microchannel plate through which electrons are accelerated, and a plurality of switchable electrodes proximate to the microchannel plate, each electrode modulating the acceleration of electrons in a region corresponding to the plate.
