<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer having a printing function accompanied by temporary or long-term storage of print data, capable of storing the print data into a plurality of kinds of storage devices, and supporting processing for determining the storage device storing the print data. <P>SOLUTION: This printer has a plurality of printing functions accompanied by the temporary or long-term storage of the print data, and can record the print data into the plurality of kinds of storage devices. The printer receives instruction of processing by one printing function, and selects the storage device storing the print data related to the instruction on the basis of the printing function corresponding to the received instruction.
