ONE SIDE WELDING METHOD OF BUTT-WELDED JOINTS

A one side welding method of butt-welded joints having a large interval between preforms is provided to obtain the superior welding quality having no defect by using only one or two submerged arc welding procedures. A one side welding method of butt-welded joints having a large interval between preforms comprises a step of butting two preforms(21) having a thickness of 10mm to 35mm while spacing an interval of 8mm to 20mm therebetween. Backing material(22) is in surface contact with the rear surfaces of the preforms to seal a gap between the preforms. Flux cored arc welding or combination welding of the flux cored arc welding and submerged arc welding is performed relative to the upper portion of the gap, which is sealed by the backing material, one to three times. The two preforms are welded by allowing a wire(24) for the submerged arc welding to weave from side to side.
