摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module capable of reducing noise due to return light. SOLUTION: This is an optical module performing optical communication through an optical transmission medium (3) which is attached at one end to the module. The module includes an optical element (13) for transmitting or receiving an optical signal and an optical block (12) interposed between the optical element and the optical transmission medium to couple the optical axes mutually. The optical block is provided with a slope (19) disposed in a manner inclined to the optical axis of the optical transmission medium, and is arranged in a state producing a gap between the slope and the optical transmission medium. The optical element is arranged in a manner receiving the optical signal entered from the optical transmission medium and refracted on the slope, or in a manner that the transmitted optical signal is refracted and then made incident on the optical transmission medium.
