PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the image quality of a composite image by preventing occurrence of a camera shake by switching one shot photographing into multiple exposure photographing flexibly depending on a camera shake occurrence history and taking into account a frame period to prevent a camera shake at the multiple exposure photographing. SOLUTION: The image acquisition apparatus is provided with: an exposure time calculation section for calculating an exposure time of an imaging means on the basis of an aperture value corresponding to an aperture and the luminance of an object; a prescribed time calculation section for calculating a prescribed time on the basis of a focal distance of a lens and a prescribed coefficient; a photographing method determining section for determining the multiple exposure photographing for acquiring a composite image of the object by acquiring a plurality of object images and synthesizing the plural object images when the exposure time is the prescribed time or over; a motion detection section for detecting a motion among the plural object images in the multiple exposure photographing; and a prescribed coefficient calculation section for updating the prescribed coefficient on the basis of the detected motion amount.
