PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical power meter for automatically setting measurement conditions of a wavelength of light to be measured, a modulation mode or the like. SOLUTION: The power meter in which at least two kinds of light to be measured having a wavelength and its modulation mode set to a relation of 1:1 are input includes an AMP for converting, into voltage, current output from a light receiving part for converting the light to be measured into the current and also controlling a gain, a bandpass filter for permitting a signal in a predetermined frequency band to pass among signals, a modulation mode switching means for switching a frequency band of the signal, an A/D for converting the signal into a digital signal, a power detecting means for detecting the power of the light from the digital signal output from the A/D, and a CPU for determining whether a measurement value detected by the power detecting means is within a predetermined range and that the light having a wavelength component corresponding to the frequency is input if the measurement value falls in the predetermined range.
