<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting apparatus preventing falling of a shade. <P>SOLUTION: The lighting apparatus 1 is constructed of an apparatus main body 2, a shade 13, a shade attaching and detaching mechanism 14, and a lid 20 or the like. The shade attaching and detaching mechanism 14 is constructed of an engaging member 15 and an engaged member 16 for engaging with the engaging member 15. The engaging member 15 is installed on the apparatus main body 2 and the engaged member 16 is installed on the shade 13. The engaging member 15 is constructed of a case 15a, a release button 15b protruding from the lower face of the case 15a, and an engaging pawl 15c or the like installed projectably and retractably on the two side faces opposed to the case 15. The engaged member 16 is provided with an engaging groove 16d for engaging with the engaging pawl 15c.
