<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a container capable of allowing stored bar-shaped articles to be easily taken out, and reliably closing a lid body when storing the articles. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The container includes a container body and a lid body. A bottom part of the container includes a bottom surface part and a slide part erected from a periphery of the bottom surface part and extending parallel to a sidewall of a cylindrical barrel part, and sliding along the sidewall of the cylindrical barrel part, a first engagement part on the cylindrical barrel part side and a first engagement part on the slide part side provided on surfaces opposite to each other of the cylindrical barrel part and the slide part to form a pair, and engaged with each other to stop the movement when the bottom surface part reaches the predetermined position above a vicinity of a lower end of the cylindrical barrel part when the bottom part is moved upwardly, and a second engagement part on the cylindrical barrel part side and a second engagement part on the slide part side provided on surfaces opposite to each other of the cylindrical barrel part and the slide part to form a pair, and engaged with each other to stop the downward movement when the bottom surface part reaches the predetermined position below a vicinity of the lower end of the cylindrical barrel part when the bottom part is moved downward.
