The present invention relates to a method for thermochemical conversion of a carbon-containing feedstock into reaction products, including the following steps: a/ when the amount of solar energy received via an opening of a reactor is greater than a first predetermined value, performing an endothermic reaction for converting the carbon-containing feedstock within the reaction area(s) of the reactor, the amount of heat required by the endothermic reaction being supplied at least in part by the amount of solar energy entering the reaction area(s); b/ when the amount of solar energy received via the opening is lower than the first predetermined value, performing at least one reaction to convert the carbon-containing feedstock within the reaction area(s), steps a/ and b/ being carried out continuously.
