An aircraft air conditioning system (10) comprises an ambient air line (12) which is adapted to be flown through with ambient air and which is connected to a mixer (14) of the aircraft air conditioning system (10) in order to supply ambient air to the mixer (14), and a refrigerating machine (16) which comprises a refrigerant circuit (18) adapted to be flown through with a refrigerant, the refrigerant circuit (18) being thermally coupled to the ambient air line (12) in order to transfer heat, from the ambient air flowing through the ambient air line (12), to the refrigerant circulating in the refrigerant circuit (18), before the ambient air is supplied into the mixer (14). A control device (46) is adapted to control the ambient air flow through the ambient air line (12) in such a way that the ambient air is selectively conducted through different sections (12a, 12b, 12c, 12d) of the ambient air line (12) or different bypass lines (54, 64, 90) running parallel to the sections (12a, 12b, 12c, 12d) of the ambient air line (12). |
