PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the soot measurement sensor of a diesel engine which is selective with respect to soot in the fine particles of exhaust gas from a diesel engine.SOLUTION: The soot measurement sensor of a diesel engine includes: a heat generation element constituted such that Ag is fixed to a TiOsupport body, by which a combustion reaction occurs with the soot of exhaust gas resulting in heat generation; a comparison element constituted of the TiOsupport body by which any combustion reaction does not occur with the soot of the exhaust gas; and a measurement section configured to derive the generation amounts of the soot by using a temperature difference between the heat generation element and the comparison element. The heat generation element is constituted such that 1 to 7 wt.% of Ag is contained in TiO. The heat generation element is manufactured representatively via an impregnation process, a drying process and a heat treatment process. The impregnation process includes: immersing the TiOsupport body in AgNOsolution to fix AgNOto the TiOsupport body, and the drying process includes: carrying out drying treatment in 6 to 20 hours at 60 to 100°C posterior to the impregnation process, and the heat treatment process includes: carrying out heat treatment in 2 to 5 hours at 500 to 700°C posterior to the drying process to turn AgNOinto Ag. |
