PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector capable of appropriately correcting a luminance deviation associated with trapezoidal distortion, and to provide a control method therefor.SOLUTION: A filter coefficient calculation section 32 calculates a filter coefficient for correcting trapezoidal distortion. More specifically, the filter coefficient calculation section 32 detects a maximum value and a minimum value related to a deformation ratio of each pixel representing a degree of deformation due to the trapezoidal distortion and calculates the filter coefficients corresponding to a plurality of deformation ratios in response to a deformation ratio range (the minimum value to the maximum value). Subsequently, the filter coefficient calculation section 32 calculates a mean value of the plurality of deformation ratios prior to correction of the filter coefficients by using luminance correction coefficients for correcting luminance deviations associated with the trapezoidal distortion and determines luminance correction coefficient adjustment amounts such that luminance is multiplied by one (not changed), when the deformation ratio is the mean value. Further, the filter coefficient calculation section 32 corrects the filter coefficients by using the luminance correction coefficients and the luminance correction coefficient adjustment amounts. |
