PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traffic measuring and registering method in an exchange remote centralized maintenance apparatus capable of quickly and easily performing the traffic measurement and registration of an exchange. SOLUTION: When an operator inputs registration data, the processing time (1) of traffic measurement performed with the registration data, is calculated the processing time (2) of the measurement item of a measurement period being the same as that of the registration data among the measurement items of registration data that has been already registered is calculated, the registration approval/denial of the registration data is decided according to the total processing time of the processing time (1) and the processing time (2), and when registration is decided to be denial, candidates for measurement items to be subjected to registration release are displayed.
