PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide woody fancy plywood which makes mirror finish possible even if a sheet of decorative paper is thin and soft and is apt to be affected by a substrate and also can inexpensively be produced, and to provide its production method. SOLUTION: A melamine resin is applied on a wooden substrate 1 to form a melamine resin layer 2, and a thermosetting adhesive is applied on the above resin layer 2 which is in an unhardened state to form an adhesive layer 3. A decorative sheet 4 is attached onto the adhesive layer 3 to undergo pressurization on heating from the upper face of the decorative sheet 4. A flat heating plate type hot press which makes the surface of a press plate 10 undergo a mirror processing is used for the above heating/pressurizing process, Thereby, the surface of the melamine resin 2 is hardened on mirror-finishing when heating and pressurizing, and simultaneously the decorative sheet 4 adhering to it is also finished into a mirror surface.
