PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To highly precisely detect and correct a stripe pixel in image data obtained by reading a document.SOLUTION: A document reader includes: transfer means for transferring a document; reading means for reading the transferred document in a reading position; a white member which is oppositely arranged to the reading position; reference value determining means for determining a reference value from an output value of the reading means, which is obtained by reading the white member; detecting means for detecting a shadow which occurs by a tip of the document, from the output value of the reading means before the tip of the document is transferred and from the reference value; a stripe pixel position determining means for determining a stripe pixel position from the output value of the reading means, which corresponds to the position of the document, which is determined on the basis of a detection result by the detecting means; and correcting means for performing stripe correction in response to the stripe pixel position. |
