A measurement device adapted for in situ light intensity sensing from within an environment comprising: a housing adapted to enclose a control system and fluidly seal the control system from the environment, the housing having an outer wall and a channel fluidly connected to the environment at one or more locations, the control system comprising a controller, a light receiver component and a wireless data transmitter component, the light receiver disposed within the housing to receive light from the channel and output one or more signals indicative of light intensity, and wherein the control system is configured to: receive the one or more signals indicative of light intensity from the light receiver, and output a signal indicative of light intensity to the wireless data transmitter.
