A sound-producing device according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a plurality of sound-producing bodies having mutually different vibration frequencies; a damper arranged for each sound-producing bodies and suppressing vibration thereof by coming in contact with the sound-producing bodies; a damper movement mechanism for controlling a state of contact of the damper with each of the sound-producing bodies by moving each damper; a soundboard provided for coupled vibration with the sound-producing bodies; an exciter for vibrating the soundboard; an acquisition unit for acquiring an audio signal; a signal output unit that generates a drive signal for driving the exciter with a vibration in accordance with the audio signal acquired, and that outputs the drive signal to the exciter; and a damper control unit that drives the damper movement mechanism to change a state of contact between the sound-producing bodies and the damper on the basis of the frequency distribution of the audio signal acquired.
