HYBRIDIZATION PROBES WHICH DETECT BACTERIA OF THE GENUS <i>THERMOBIFIDA</i>

A method is provided herein which allows for the specific detection of bateria from the genus <i>Thermobifida</i>. This method makes use of nucleic acid probes that are complementary to a conserved region of the 16S rRNA genes present within the bacteria. The probes herein provided permit rapid detection of bacterial strains of <i>Thermobifida</i> in an accurate and reproducible fashion.
