PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescent element of high durability to withstand water and hydrogen. SOLUTION: The organic electroluminescent element has an electrode, an organic compound layer including a light emitting layer, and an inorganic film layer formed on an organic light emitter with a back electrode, on a first substrate where a second substrate is laid on a surface of the inorganic film layer; a gap between a surface of the second substrate facing the inorganic film layer and the inorganic film layer is filled with a resin to form a resin sealing layer; and the periphery top of the first substrate and the second substrate is coated with a sealing adhesive containing a drying agent.
