COMMUNICATING SYSTEM, AD HOC COMMUNICATION METHOD, PORTABLE TERMINAL DEVICE, AND BASE STATION APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform scan of an ad hoc network without loss and efficiently by making use of a base station of a cellular communication network by a radio terminal device provided with a communication interface which can be connected with the cellular communication network and a radio interface which can establish ad hoc communication. SOLUTION: Portable terminals 10 and 11 notify a wireless base station 20 of start and completion of ad hoc communication and the network status. The wireless base station 20 centrally controls existence of request for ad hoc communication from the portable terminals 10 and 11 within a radio area and information on scan parameters. It determines possibility or impossibility of execution of scan and scan parameters in consideration of various conditions such as number of portable terminals, interference from different networks and the like and notifies the portable terminals. The portable terminals 10 and 11 control scan of ad hoc communication according to the notification from the wireless base station 20. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
