PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a telephone response system for responding using a suitable menu while using client information such as language classification registered at a telephone contract, and whether it is a prepaid charging system. SOLUTION: The telephone response system is equipped with a client information storage means which stores telephone numbers and client information corresponding to the telephone numbers; a telephone number extraction means which extracts a telephone number from call information at call arrival; a retrieval means which uses the telephone number, extracted by the telephone number extraction means, to retrieve the client information storage means; a menu selection means which selects a menu, according to the client information retrieved by the retrieval means; and a response means which responds to a received telephone call, according to the menu selected by the menu selection means, prior to a transfer processing to an operator.
