PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal with a sure and high speed switching mechanism of protection of a camera lens, a normal photography mode and a two-dimensional bar code photography mode. SOLUTION: A cover member 109 is attached to a lens part 106 of a camera mounted on the portable terminal 10 to start and end a camera function interlocked with opening/closing of the cover member 109. A cover slides to two steps and the normal photography mode and the two-dimensional photography mode are switched by a cover position. Intrusion of water and dust from an operation part for switching photography modes to the inside of the chassis is prevented by forming parallel grooves constituted of depth equal to or less than thickness of a chassis wall on the surface of a chassis as a slide mechanism, forming rail-like engagement parts corresponding to the grooves in the cover member 109 and constituting the portable terminal so that the engagement parts engage into the grooves to slide.
