The method involves detecting an electrical parameter e.g. voltage, using a sensor (2) and transforming the electrical parameter into a transformation range, which corresponds to Laplace-range. A virtual physical signal is determined by application of inverse filter function on a measured input signal, where characteristics of the sensor are modelable by the measured input signal. Dynamic defect is identified depending on the virtual physical signal. The defect is identified when the virtual physical signal exceeds an upper threshold and/or within a lower threshold. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for detecting dynamic defect of a sensor (2) a computer program comprising instructions for performing a method for detecting dynamic defect of a sensor.
